Wild Women of Winedale

Cambria Center for the Arts Theatre presents The Wild Women of Winedale

Wild Women of Winedale

Cambria Center for the Arts Theatre presents a staged reading of The Wild Women of Winedale on Sept. 27 and 28. It was written by Jesse Jones, Nicholas Hope and Jamie Wooten.

Both joyful and touching, this comedy focuses on the lives of the Wild sisters in Winedale, Virginia, who find themselves at a crossroad, a time when only vodka and speed-knitting can help you cope. As “women of a certain age” the sisters face their fears of starting something new and they do it with laughs and a lot of heart.

Don’t miss this new play! Performances are Friday and Saturday evening, September 27th & 28th at 7pm and Saturday afternoon, the 28th at 2pm. Tickets are just $15 and are available online at My805Tix.com or at the Ball & Skein in Cambria’s East Village.

Staged readings are a great way to explore new work, plays that might not otherwise be able to be fully produced. Minimal sets, costumes, and props let the audience focus on the story. Actors carry their scripts yet deliver dynamic performances. And actors love it because it requires no memorization and very little rehearsal.

The Wild Women of Winedale is being directed by Hank Wethington and features Janice Peters, Mary Alvarado, Sheridan Cole, Kate Kravets, and Jill Turnbow.

Cambria Center for the Arts Theatre is located at 1350 Main St. in Cambria.
